DO NOT COMMENCE this program if you have also enrolled in Approved Arrangements for Accredited Persons (Classes 1 to 8) as that program includes this Biosecurity Awareness unit.
This unit has been developed to help the widest possible group of people in the imported cargo logistics industry to understand biosecurity issues and how their knowledge of such issues can reduce biosecurity risks to Australia.
This online course provides formal Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment accreditation for specialised biosecurity roles.
For further information about the Biosecurity Awareness course accreditation validity and requirements, refer to the department's website.
This course introduces you to the role of Classes 1 to 8 Approved Arrangements (AAs) and the responsibilities of AA Accredited Persons in reducing biosecurity risks at AA sites as well as the conditions that AAs must meet. You will learn to identify biosecurity risks at AA sites and how processing and treatments may reduce these risks. You will also learn about the key biosecurity risk management principles for AAs. This course will provide the foundation knowledge essential for you to become an AA Accredited Person.
